The St. Brigid boys’ tennis team is gearing up for the 2012 season! After an impressive 12-4 record last year, we are looking to build on that success and that’s where YOU come in! If you’re a boy in grades six through eight and want to join our team, practices start February 5th!
We’ll hold indoor practices, usually an hour or so @ Elysium, so it’s nice and close to the school for any car pooling needs. And of course, when the weather breaks, we’ll have practices outside–usually twice a week and once on the weekends for about an hour as well.
Our season consists of 12-15 matches that are held in April and early May, usually 2-4 matches per week with starting times between 4:00pm and 4:30pm. Just about half of our matches are held @ our home courts–Dublin Grizzell Middle School.
Each official match consists of five total matches: three singles and two doubles match ups along with numerous exhibition matches that are played immediately following the five official matches–so everyone has a chance to participate!
All you need to bring is: a tennis racquet, non-marking tennis shoes, and black shorts with pockets (for matches)–for practices, any shorts with pockets are acceptable.
